Mambo D'Mulcho is a Latin-Jazz/Mambo song about the joys and benefits of composting and mulching food waste - enjoy!

This recording was made with members of David Rastrick’s jazz ensemble ‘Jazztrix’ (plus a special guest or two), and includes members from both the South West and Great Southern line up of the group.

I dance Mambo, Mambo, while mountains of waste
Pile up outside my door.
I dance it crazy, crazy, ‘coz that’s how it is,
Every day there’s more and more.
I don’t understand how it can be,
In a civilized society,
How the educated would not see
- A way to make it right.

Join me, join me, what do you see,
As you gaze upon my hill?
- A treasure trove of tasty trash,
- Or a sight that makes you ill?
There’s methane for our energy,
Compost for our gardening,
So much we can use again,
So c’mon let’s make it real.

Don’t throw it away – There is no ‘away’.
There’s only our big old backyard, and a price left to pay.
So use it again – ‘Coz waste is your friend.
There’s a wealth of opportunity and a mulch, mulch better way.

Mucho mulch-o - recycle it up,
Take a shopping trip to your local tip.
Compost, compost for all that you’re worth,
Collect your food waste and recycle it.
Composting leftover food
Will surely make our gardens boom.
Communities and health will bloom,
- To this mulching mambo hit.
