Together 07:32
You came to me What was I to do I couldn't help Falling in love with you Just like a dream Stepping from the blue Lost was my heart Something like deja vu Together Together Here in this moment We are so free And we'll always be Here in this love Together

Hear me singing, hear me moaning, the blues on my horn Hear me growling, hear me howling, the night until dawn Hear the blues of this country - since the day I been born Won't hear me laughing - hear me crying - such stories I've heard When the country, was a-stolen, and culture was burned Hear the blues of the people - oh what lessons we've learned Hear the people, are a talking, and making new friends Yes, the people are a-telling, their tales to the end For the blues of this country - time for making amends Now we're walking, back together - your hand in my hand Yes we're talking, now together - and making new plans For the blues of this country - time for healing the land

Opening night at the ballroom Opening wide to my dreams Ladies and gent's won't you take your partners? Phantasmagorical yearnings Echoes from beyond the veil Lost in miasma of frozen memories Hold me, hold me she said Take me in your arms Hold me, hold me he said Share with me your charms Beauty of beauty of beauties Beautiful flower of my dream Ladies and gent's won't you take your partners?

If you've got much room for the mushroom - be careful which kind you choose If you've got much room for the mushroom - be careful which kind you choose And take in moderation - or get the Balingup Blues Folks are travelling from all around Yes, the folks is travelling from all around They just can't wait to get back to that South West town You know why? They've got the Balingup Blues (Balingup Blues) Balingup Blues (Balingup Blues) Balingup Blues (Balingup Blues) Balingup Blues (Balingup Blues) Take in moderation - or it's your mind you'll lose! If you've got much room for the mushroom - be careful which kind you choose If you've got much room for that tasy mushroom - be careful which kind you choose And take in moderation - or get the Balingup Blues They've got the Balingup Blues (Balingup Blues) Balingup Blues (Balingup Blues) Balingup Blues (Balingup Blues) Balingup Blues (Balingup Blues) Take in moderation - or it's your mind In quiet desperation, you'll leave behind Take in moderation - or get the Balingup Blues!

about

Fragments and Dreams is a collection of five tunes - A Latin Jazz song, a blues, a hard-bop tune, a comedy waltz and another blues!

Fragments and Dreams is a collection of some of David Rastrick's compositions from different decades, in different jazz-based styles. The songs were recorded mostly live at Sean Lillico's Fur Real Studio in Injinup (near Yallingup) one evening on Saturday 10th of April 2021.

Together is a love song, a samba, written in Broome WA (2006).

Stolen Country Blues is the most recently written song on the EP (2021) speaking of Australia healing from the wounds of western colonisation and coming together for a positive shared future.

The Star is an instrumental hard-bop piece, composed in Broome (2006).

Opening Night is a 'Toxic Waltz' (so named because of its dissonant harmony) set in a haunted ballroom... (1999). Some sound effects and organ sounds were added to the live recording.

Balingup Blues is a little bluesy ditty about the town of Balingup in South West Western Australia, and its infamous magic mushrooms! (1999)
